Study M.A in Psychology in Top Universities of India


For those of you who are currently in their final year of Graduation and are planning to do their Post-Graduation in Psychology, need to plan well ahead in time. Here is a list of universities in India that you can consider. 
PG Degree in Psychology


Tata Institute Of Social Sciences, Mumbai: Its is one of the top most colleges in India offering an MA in applied Psychology degree. the Mumbai campus offers two specializations. 1) Clinical psychology and 2) Counselling Psychology. Intake is 20 candidates, each at Mumbai campus and BALM Chennai. Very few people are aware of this amazing new development, which gives more students to be a part of TISS family. The Banyan Academy Of Leadership in Mental Health (BALM) also offers bot the courses in affiliation with TISS since a few years.  The eligibility criteria required is mentioned here.  The admission forms for session 2017 would be coming out in the month of October-November, soon after which will be the TISS-National Eligibilty Test and the interviews are held in March. Session starts in 2nd week of June.

University of Delhi : The admission process starts in the end of April and continues till May. Entrance exam is conducted in June and classes commence from July. Rest of the required information is given in the admissions bulletin. 27 General seats are reserved for each category taking admissions on basis of Entrance test and Merit. 

Christ University, Banglore: One of the excellent universities in India offering a Masters of Science degree in Psychology with specialization in clinical, counselling and Human Resource Develeopment and Managment (HRDM). Their Department of Psychology also offers various certificate programmes in counselling, Forrensics, Hypnosis, etc. They have a three tier-selection procedure including entrance test, skill assessment and personal Interview. AMITY University, Noida:  Amity offers more options in post graduation than any other university in Delhi. It has MA in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Military psychology, Organisational Psychology and M.Sc in Clinical Psychology. They also offer PG Diploma in a host of other categories. Full details about these 2 years courses with application forms and procedures is available on their website. This university offers an excellent course curriculum and placement options. 

Banaras Hindu University: This is also one of the well-respected universities in India to be considered for PG in Psychology. Its online admissions starts by the end of January. It has a lot of colleges under it thus having higher number of seats. Information regarding admission procedure can be found on this link. 

The above mentioned were just a handful of options. various other state universities such as Punjab, Calcutta, Lucknow offer great options for this course. You can also consider Bharat Ratna Dr B.R Ambedkar University, Delhi and Gautam Buddha University.
