- Ensure that the Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialists are in full regulatory compliance and that clinical services are delivered in accordance with recognized best practices
- Provide supervision for Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist staff in accordance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards and agency policy
- Provide supervision for Quality Assurance Supervisor and assist them in fulfilling the duties outlined in their job description
- Oversee and coordinate Quality Assurance Department to ensure all Department of Mental Health and agency guidelines or adhered to at all times
- Provide clinical services to the residential program residents and families as needed
- Demonstrate an ability to set limits and intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the children and families served
- Support the intake function of the agency by active clinical oversight of all residential admissions to ensure appropriateness of placement
- Work with other Department managers to increase clear communication and mutual support between programs
- Monitor and assure adherence of programs to all governing bodies
- Monitor care records to assure that required treatment documentation is included and meets agency and professional standards
- Monitor the milieu for resident safety and work collaboratively with the inter-disciplinary treatment team to develop and implement therapeutic interventions to enhance the safety of all residents
- Monitor and review all agency protocols and practices, including containments, one-on-ones and hospitalizations
- Assist Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialists in developing treatment goals which utilize the expertise of child care staff, ensure quality services and are sensitive to cultural issues
- Serve as a liaison with the Departments of Child and Family Services and Mental Health
- Ensure that the Clinical Services Department is in full regulatory compliance and that clinical services are delivered in accordance with recognized best practices.
- Provide clinical supervision for Clinical staff in accordance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards and agency policy.
- Assist Clinicians in developing treatment plans which utilize the expertise of child care staff, ensure quality services and are sensitive to cultural issues.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Required:
Master’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience working in DMH-contracted mental health settings; 5 years supervisory experience.
Computer/Office Skills Required:
Word Processing, Email, internet, ability to learn clinical software, basic office skills (i.e. typing, telephone, copier)
Physical Skills Required:
Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening; ability to commute to various sites on and off campus; ability to work extended hours as needed; ability to physically restrain children (if needed)
