edLABS is a new, education-focused initiative by GMC. At edLABS , We invests in promising startups and companies that have disruptive solutions aimed at solving the toughest problems in the space of education. The pilots we support should scale to become sustainable and impact hard to reach populations and markets.

We are looking for a highly driven, entrepreneurial and passionate individual to join the innovative and growth-oriented GMCedLABS team in Bangalore, India. The Pilot Manager will support the GMC edLABS team with a wide range of responsibilities related to pilot sourcing, selection, deal closures, pilot management, and reporting.
1. Pilot sourcing & selection
Interviewing and Screening prospect companies for market potential and social impact
Developing selection criteria and creating templates for documentation
Conduct due diligence on pilot ideas and prepare pitches to investment committee
Work with the team to pilot ideas under tight budget constraints
Interacting with management teams and our advisors to evaluate entrepreneurs and develop nuanced understanding of venture risks and opportunities
2.Deal Closures
Supporting term sheet discussions and negotiations
Reviewing legal documents from current and prior financings to confirmterms and understand governance dynamics
Building/modifying financial models and conducting returns analysis
Providing operational support throughoutclosing process
3. Pilot management
Independently manage 3-4 assigned pilots and ensure timely delivery of key milestones
Engage entrepreneurs orinvestee companies, review documents, analyse business model related data, conduct desktop-based research, identify hosts for replicable ideas and communicating with internal staff and external organizations.
Monitoring pilotcompany's’ key performance indicators and milestones to evaluate progress, assess follow-on investments, and identify changes in business or market fundamentals.
4. Reporting
Conducting initial data analysis and evaluate companies on milestones achieved
Social impact data aggregation, reporting and updating relevant documents
Maintaining accurate and organized records
1-3 years professional work experience in social enterprise/ education/ impact investing or related field
Demonstrated understanding of the Indian education sector, human centered design and knowledge ofsocial innovation sector and research is a plus
Team-player, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to multi task and deliver to a tight deadline
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience (including executive presentations)
Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
