Men Against Violence and Abuse – MAVA, India’s first voluntary organisation of men established in 1993, has been working to stop and prevent gender-based violence against women by involving boys and young men.
MAVA needs a Youth Coordinator in Mumbai to implement and coordinate Gender Sensitisation Program with students in select 10 Colleges of Mumbai. The work will include arranging and conducting periodic Gender Awareness Sessions, Training and Mentoring select young men on issues of gender, sexuality, health, masculinities and violence against women. He will also be involved in Advocacy, Documentation Work.
We want Male Candidate Only – preferably an M.A. in Social Work / Development / Psychology / Humanities / Mass Communications from a recognised institute, aged between 24-26 years, preferably with 1- 2 years’ experience in the field of gender / social development / Communications. (Fresh candidates may also apply)
He should be interested in working with youths on issues of gender and sexuality and should have strong skills in Advocacy, Writing / Documentation and Social Media . He should preferably be from Mumbai and have a reasonably good knowledge of spoken and written English and Hindi / Marathi.
