About MSW programme

MSW Programme at MU started in the year 2009 with a focus to develop a cadre of skilled Social Workers to manage emerging challenges in service, development and corporate sectors.  The training in MSW course at MU provides students a rigorous, comprehensive, constructive and progressive experience of growth with the help of richly experienced faculty members. Didactic lectures, individual exercises, role-plays, case studies, group tasks, educative games and watching documentaries followed by discussion are some of the common teaching strategies used to enhance students learning.

Course Structure

The course duration is split into four semesters over two years. Each semester consists of four theory papers and a field work practicum. Across all semesters, fieldwork experiences are given significant priority. Writing up a dissertation in the fourth semester and a block placement at the end of the course for 4 weeks are mandatory. Students’ performance will be evaluated based on credit system.


Who can apply?

Graduates in social sciences, arts, commerce, management, engineering and health sciences from a recognised University with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
