Opportunity for Psychological Crisis Counselor - Part time - City University of New York

Bronx Community College/Office of Personal Counseling Services

Part time, 225 hours/semester

$38.91-$42.09/hour, depending on qualifications

The part-time Psychological Crisis Counselor will work with college students who are experiencing
emotional/psychological crisis.


DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Complete walk-in screenings, intakes, and assessments for crisis students.
• Provide time-limited individual and group counseling for crisis students.
• Assess multiple, emergency walk-in students for safety evaluations.
• Provide consultation services for faculty, staff, and public safety officers regarding crisis students.
• Plan, develop, coordinate, and present educational programs and outreach.
• Provide evening coverage one evening per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

LMSW, LCSW or LMHC to work with personal or psychological counseling clients.

AND

A New York State license as a mental health practitioner (social work or mental health counseling).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be licensed in the State of New York. Bilingual a plus. Previous experience with crisis intervention. Familiar with suicidology, substance abuse, and threat assessment(s). A commitment to social justice, economic hardship, multicultural humility, and competency.
