Vacancy - Senior Adviser - Energy Security - Delhi in British High Commission

Developing a strategy and workplan on energy security, including a specific focus on oil and gas.
Driving delivery of the strategy to achieve results and communicate impact.

Developing and delivering a new strategic partnership with India on oil and gas that advances India’s policy priorities to develop domestic resources, strengthen markets and develop cleaner fuels.

Generating analysis and advice on energy security to inform choices and approaches.


Building relationships and facilitating informed and evidence-based dialogue with industry, think tanks and broader civil society to inform the UK’s approach to policy and programming.

Identifying and developing a pipeline of commercial opportunities in areas matched to UK expertise and capability.

Contributing flexibly to overall team delivery, including on visits, events and broader tasks as required.

Essential qualifications and experience  

Masters degree in relevant subject.
At least 5 years’ experience working on oil and gas and energy security.
Experience of working autonomously and leading a portfolio
Experience of policy analysis and report writing
Experience of designing and delivering collaborative programmes.
Experience of working with actors across the oil and gas value chain.

Desirable qualifications and experience  

Bilateral G2G partnerships, energy modelling, working in an international organisation (e.g. think tank, bilateral agency or diplomatic mission, private sector company), engaging with senior Government of India officials.
