We are now searching for an experienced social worker to cover a period of leave for a fixed term of 5 months.

As a Social Worker you will be working 32 hours per week in our Auckland Central/South Child & Family Services team, you will help families access community resources and reinforce positive parenting skills. This is a permanent position that is based at our Barnardos Office in Homai South Auckland.

You will be a qualified and registered Social Worker or working towards registration, with experience working with vulnerable children and their families, familiar with social work case management frameworks, as well as evidence based parenting strategies.

In this role, excellent communication skills are key. You’ll also need resilience and flexibility, and the ability to build strong professional relationships with families and service providers. An unrestricted New Zealand driver’s license is also required. The successful applicant will be required to attend Lead Professional Training and deliver children safety programs.

It’s a challenging role, but one that will give you a huge amount of satisfaction and the chance to directly help families make positive changes.

Social Worker – Family Support (Blenheim)

We are looking for a registered and qualified social worker who has experience working with vulnerable children and their families for a permanent part-time (20 hours per week) role based in our Blenheim office.

This role certainly provides variety and flexibility as the work involves assessing, planning and reviewing interventions with vulnerable children and their families under a LEAP contract, coordinating the Domestic Violence services as well as taking responsibility for the coordination of Supervised Contact services to families in the Marlborough region.

To undertake this role you will need to be:

A holder of a recognised social work qualification
SWRB registered or currently applying for registration
Flexible, resilient and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks
A holder of a full clean NZ drivers licence.

Social Worker - Specialist Group Home (Auckland)

Your key responsibilities are:

working with the rangatahi 
case management
liaison with whānau, specialist therapy providers and CYF 
administrative work
day and holiday programmes which run in conjunction with the Residential Youth Workers.

We would like to hear from you if you are a highly motivated and skilled practitioner who is a qualified/registered social worker or working towards this. You will be resilient and flexible with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour. You will work positively to empower our rangatahi and be respectful of the needs of these complex young people and their whānau. You will be knowledgeable in the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and hold a current clear driver’s licence.
