Description:

vChalk is a high growth, mission driven and highly entrepreneurial organization. We look for 5 Impact Executives who will collaborate with the team on our efforts to assess/test the English skills of students from primary grades across budget private schools. We look for 5 proactive people, who love spending time with children, are willing to work hard, learn quickly and are comfortable with technology.

Responsibilities:

o   Co-execute impact measurement tasks in the field: what do kids know, what do they need to practice in vChalk activity-based classes, what is the growth of children every three months etc.
o   Co-organize the assessment day in our partner schools
o   Test the English speaking and reading comprehension skills of minimum 20 kids/day in our partner schools using vChalk web platform to record the level of each child and following the assessment structure
o   Ensure the learning data is accurately collected and recorded for every child
o   Collaborate with the Learning and Tech Directors to improve the assessment structure and the existing data recording systems
o   Deliver and take feedback on children’s progress to/from low-income parents in Kannada or English during parent workshops in schools in and around Bangalore
o   Assist the team with research (interviews, surveys) on teachers’, parents’ and children’s experience with vChalk.

Required skills and qualifications:

o   Graduate or a Postgraduate with 0-3 years of work experience.

o   Speak fluent Kannada and English

o   Comfortable with smartphone applications

o   Knowledge of basic Microsoft excel – data entry, filter, sorting, formatting etc.

o   Work independently with minimal supervision.

o   Listen actively and learn continuously.

o   Willing to travel as needed to schools across Bangalore and Karnataka

o   Passionate to improve educational opportunities for children from lower-income families

Attributes:

o   Be extremely patient with children and not be visibly bored, frustrated or exhausted by interacting with children.

o   Communicate to the children creatively through stories and examples

o   Manage the stakeholders amicably.

Remuneration:

This is a project based role, with minimum 3-month full time engagement across the year, starting in July 2017, at vChalk office in JP Nagar, 4th Phase, Bangalore. The role includes working with the vChalk team at the office and travel to schools in Bangalore only when necessary. Any travel cost to schools is covered by the company (by bus/metro). The remuneration for this role depends on qualifications and performance.

It can become a full-time role for minimum 2 people, depending on performance.
